York St John University is engaged in several research projects relating to (inner and) outer space. As a result, they have formed a new outer space research group. They are holding their first event, a “Space Showcase” on 9 February 2026.
This event will run as a series of carousel talks where staff will each present for 10 minutes about their research relating to outer space. This ranges from research on dark sky protection, light pollution, space law, amateur astronomy, and much more!
This event has a keynote speaker, Dr Yarin Eski, an Associate Professor of Public Administration at the VU University, Amsterdam. Yarin will talk about his recent research on astrocide.
This event is open to York St John Universty staff, students and members of the public, and is free of charge.
